With over 22 years in technology, and over 8 years in the information security industry, Laura combines deep subject matter expertise with business acumen. As an analytical thinker and skilled communicator, she has an ability to cut through complexity and make sense of emerging concepts, using foresight to her client’s advantage. She has gained the trust of senior leaders in the industry, based on her competence, dedication and sincere desire to make a difference. Previously, Laura worked for technology companies as well as government agencies in North America, Europe and Asia . Her corporate experience includes RSA, Brooks Automation, Cygnus Business Media, Matrox, Mettler Toledo, and a division of Hewlett Packard. She worked for Government of Alberta, Canada and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, to help expand the role of technology in economic development. Currently, Laura is also the program director for the Executive Security Action Forum (ESAF), an industry association of CISOs and other senior executives responsible for protecting information from Global 1000 companies and government. Laura has spoken and written widely on the topics of information security and compliance, and she has authored and contributed to several industry standards and best practice frameworks. Laura holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in economics and marketing. ![]() Paul Robinson is an Analyst with Robinson Insight A relative newcomer to the information security industry, Paul has a passion for privacy issues and the implications these have for security technology. His current research focus includes European data protection regulations, U.S. Red Flag Rules, and the ISO 27001/2 standards. Paul is an accomplished writer; his articles have appeared in several academic journals and newspapers. He is also an experienced educator, with over 10 years of experience in teaching and managing a teaching staff. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in history and Latin American studies. His international experience includes studying in Guatemala, Mexico and Peru; and fluency in French and Spanish. |
